Hank wasn't a Chad, Hank was an unsuspecting normie who happened to have it good during high school.
His character isn't aggressive often, he's usually passive in that most of his actions are responses to the actions of others. He rarely pursues anything on his own, which I would say is a key Chad trait.
Hank is perhaps a member of the last generation in America to not have to "find their own way in life". Hank is, essentially, a beta male. However, with the guidance of society he got to live the life of a Chad football player in his youth.
Joseph and Bobby are the first generation of the directionless, unlike Hank's parents, Hank and Peggy do little to guide Bobby and the same can be said with Joseph's parents. For the most part, they let Bobby choose his identity instead of teaching him one. Gone is the strictness and rigidness of the days of Hank's parents, and gone is the structure to society.
Yes, Bobby and Joseph are happy now, but what will they grow up to be? Bobby, on his own, will likely develop into a gluttonous liberal arts major. I don't doubt he will become indoctrinated in SJWism. Joseph will likely become a felon. Connie will abandon Bobby after youth for someone more mature. And, Luann will stay with her trailer trash husband.

To expand on my point I'd like to talk more about Cotton, Hank's dad.
Cotton is a Chad from a different era. He womanizes, he's dominant, strong, has a bold character. Fuck, he's had to fight for his life in the 2nd world war. He is an alpha, no doubt about it. He's a spitting image of what /r9k/ loves to hate and feel jealous of.
However, look at how he has channeled his energy in comparison to how the Chads of Hank's generation channeled their's. Unlike John Redcorn, he provides guidance for his beta son and provided protection for the betas of his country. He personally intervenes with Hank's parenting to toughen up Bobby several times, perhaps the only times Bobby ever builds character.
Yes, he was a Chad, but instead of devoting his time solely to womanizing like neo-Chads do he devoted his energies to bettering society and the beta men that inhabit it. Helping them achieve what he could not by providing them with security, living in harmony with them.
That kind of Chad does not exist anymore, or, he is harder to find to say the least. And that is because our society has been ripped apart by cultural Marxists and SJW-types, by degenerates and anarchists. Yet we have not felt any pain at all from these injuries inflicted upon us, our leisure and comfort have sedated us. Society is on a heavy mixture of morphine and medication prescribed to us in the forms of media, entertainment, porn and other forms of soulless short-term happiness.
We have not noticed this rise of self-destructive "do whatever makes you happy" individualism. Before the generation of Bobby Hills emerged from the indulgent generation of Hank Hills, it was completely unpalatable. Like a tasteless poison, an invisible toxin.
As we awake from our hedonistic slumber of youth, we find ourselves misplaced in a structureless world. And here we are, shitposting on /r9k/ instead of finding a wife or planning for our futures.
