Same here. What was your pet or whatever it was called? I always rocked the Ghost Saber. Night Elf plus cat was awesome back when shadowmeld had like a 10 sec cooldown, since you could both stealth and wait for someone to unwittingly come by.

Eversong Woods. I recently got on a TBC private server to relive old memories, and for some reason that zone and Ghostlands always held the most nostalgia for me. Probably because I sucked ass at the game as a kid and didn't level fast enough to experience a lot outside of it, but hell I wouldn't mind giving up my current life to live as a Blood Elf in Eversong.

The mechanic of flying mounts ruined everything. Questing turned into swoop down kill/fetch fly away. World PvP got kicked in the teeth when it was already down on the ground. See a red name and just fly away. Exploration just wasn't the same when you could fly everywhere. Finding a path to climb on top of Ironforge, or to get up the mountain coast north of the Plaguelands felt like something at the time.
