You put shit in a pan with some oil and cook until it looks edible, or you put it in the oven and cook for the time specified.

I'm afraid to touch the oven in case I break it. I once put a Pie in the oven to cook and took the foil off it when I shouldn't have because I thought the foil would blow up the oven since it is metal. The pie ended up just exploding everywhere and leaking out.
