Roommate massively more successful. He's looking at making 150k right out of college I'll be lucky to get 60. How do I become successful

what's your major? what's his?
are you guys friends
>>29243369
His is Computer Science mine is Math. They're pretty similar programs I guess but ultimately we do very different things at work

Mechanical engineering is my major. Would getting a masters help?
>>29243369
yes we're friends, it's not like I want him to be unsuccessful, I just wish I could match his success. I figure once we go full time instead of picking up internships it might even out a little bit, especially if I ask him for a recommendation

>Mechanical engineering is my major. Would getting a masters help?
why the fuck are you asking me
my major is also mechanical engineering though so that's kinda cool. are you a senior? what are you looking to do after college, do you already have a job lined up?

I actually have even talked with him about feeling inadequate but he thinks I should just keep working in my field (he's a developer, while I'm interested in project management) and he thinks it will eventually just improve once I get an mba.
He's never offered to recomend me for one of the companies he's worked at (where they have Project managers who make 20k a year more than me) so I don't really know if he even would
Masters in underwater basket weaving here.
>200k starting, any city I want

>He's never offered to recomend me for one of the companies he's worked at
don't ask him to do that
he is just starting to work at a company, how do you think it would sound if he goes up to his boss and says "is there any way I could hook up my friend as well?"
maybe if he worked there for a few years he could, but he's just coming out of college, don't ask favors like that of him yet.

That's a pretty good point, I work in a bank and it's the norm here to refer people like immediately (banking an old boys club filled with nepotism), but he might not really have the same culture where he works

Third year. No fucking idea what I'm gonna do when I finish.
>>29243955
same desu
honestly at this point I just wanna fucking finish, I am not doing too well in school
even if I did pursue a masters program it wouldn't be a very selective one and I would have to pay out the ass to go since there's no way I would get scholarships
