It's an appealing idea, especially to someone like me who places freedom above any other priorities.
The issue is that I feel that unrestrained capitalism would just lead to a society where the wealth gap increased even more to the point where the rich control society even more than they already do.
I would love if a libertarian could offer a legitimate response to this. If someone could prove that libertarianism would really grant liberty to everyone like it promises, not just the upper class, I'd be totally down for it.

Free trade and deregulation prevents monopolies, or at least it makes sure they eventually topple once they start fucking consumers over. The only reason the US has monopolies and oligarchies is because regulation agencies make it impossible for startups to grow beyond garage-tier, so theres never any new competition with established companies.

I like it, but a lot of people seem to think it implies anarchy. I think true libertarianism can work with a minarchy, for basic social welfare for disabled people and other govt. funded things like roads and police. Maybe basic health care as well.

Then you should know that in a free market, if a business has a monopoly on a market and they start screwing their customers enough, that creates a demand for a competitor, which without our current government regulations on business (osha, mandatory providing healthcare, affirmative action, ect ect) would be able to grow and meet that new demand incredibly quickly, thus breaking the monopoly.
