Let's face it.
The government is terrible at managing its tax dollars. It goes to support foreign conflicts, oppressive governments, extravagant military expenditures, and goes into the pockets of the richest of the rich via gratuitous loopholes disguised as progressive regulations.
That which actually gets reinvested in American people and infrastructure is used inefficiently, and lots of it gets sapped up by bureaucracy along the way to its intended ends.
Furthermore, the wealth of the rich is largely invested in capital. That's not easy to tax whatsoever - and when you do tax in forms like capital gains, you're limiting the potential for reinvestment that could help further grow the economy and benefit more people.
I'd rather invest my money in communities directly where it's needed, so I know it's being allocated exactly as intended. I don't even trust charities with respect to this.
If you want less greedy fucks that benefit unfairly, reduce those hole-riddled progressive "regulations" that plague the tax code. Simplify it so that anyone can navigate it without expensive lawyers.

Democrats have indeed been just as destructive abroad as Republicans, and I cannot in good conscience support them, though Trump's foreign and economic policies seem to be a radical departure from business as usual. Maybe he's pro-life, which disgusts feminists, but his inclination to shy away from elaboration suggests (which interviews affirm) he's far more considerate of the complexity of the matter than run of the mill Republicans.
Doing more to help rape victims is more of a war of attitudes, though adding some liability on the part of law enforcement might be a start. As for abortion, it should be available and of high quality, but people fucking need to exercise a bit more discretion on their part as well.
But when you invite more government to fix problems, you invite the problems that come with it. That's the catch-22.
