Never been bitten by a dog, but I have been stratched by many cats. If a dog bites it's getting put down, if a cat scratches you the owner just blames you for not knowing it's special trigger spots which could be anywhere.

train him OP. Make sure he gets a lot of play time with other dogs big and small. Look up positive reinforcement training methods to get him to sit, down, lie down, etc. Also watch Dog Whisperer to learn how to stop him from biting you. Make sure your mom is not spoiling him and unknowingly encouraging his bad behaviors. Own him 100 percent and make him your dog then maybe you can rename him Murdoc.
