because doctors still try to talk you out of doing it. and more importantly it's only legal for them to assist in certain tightly-controlled circumstances, like if you have a terminal illness. You can't just phone them up and ask for a prescription for cyanide.

no, they don't. they arrest other people who assist you, though. they do that in all 50 states, the five OP mentioned just have some very narrow exceptions to that. None of which apply to any of our situations
