Are autism shoes real? I saw a few threads on here about that, and now I'm terrified of buying a new pair of shoes. I was gonna get pic related, but now I'm worried that they might be autism shoes.
>>
>>29236247
yes those are autism shoes. Just go buy a pair of Stan Smiths dude
>>
>>29236247
depends on what you use them.

>Gardening, certain physical activities / work
OK i guess

>going in public
autistic as fuck
>>
>>29236386
Now I'm concerned about the fact that I was drawn to autism shoes to begin with. I literally thought they looked cool. Do i have autism?

nah i'd say you just don't know anything about fashion dw. I know plenty of dudes in Engineering that just wear baggy as fuck jeans, autism shoes and t-shirts. Takes more than that to be autistic imo, fashion is like any hobby, just gotta put a little study in to know whats good.

Stans are a good bet for totally inoffensive, nice looking shoes
>>
>>29236474
that's because your delicate mind hasn't been shat on and destroyed by media, fashion and peer pressure.

You still think like a healthy normal being that has a formula
more functional = more cool
>>
>>29236247
Those are. They just have a terrible look and the people that are associated with them are in fact autistic. Get some chucks biznatch. Those fit in with every crowd

only problem with AF1's is that they're super chunky, so they can look really bad on some people (especially if your wide or stocky). If in doubt go for a slimmer silhouette. Stans, or chuck taylors are safe as fuck

>mfw autism shoes from the thrift store

Cheap and comfy, can't get better than that.
It's not like an expensive pair of shoes will suddenly make me not socially retarded, so I'd rather save money and get something comfy but unfashionable.

Same goes for baggy jeans and loose-fitting shirts.
>>
>>29236247
Those kinds of shoes are always worn by smelly people.
>>
>>29236697
dont listen to him OP, not giving a shit about how stuff looks and only caring about 'muh comfort' is what makes all autistic people dress like shit

>dress like shit

That's the thing, though.
You don't need to be a shoe connoisseur to dress acceptably.

The vast majority of people don't have anything against tennis shoes, and the ones that do are typically limp-wrist hipsters who will try their best to drag you down to their level.

People don't like autists because they act like they have sticks up their asses, not because of the kinds of shoes they wear.

>>
>>29236829
no the shoes OP posted are atrocious, especially when paired with baggy jeans and a raggy-ass t shirt. Appearance matters whether you like it or not, i'm just trying to give OP and hopefully anyone else some tips to help out. If you wanna justify dressing like autistic garbage be my guest, won't change the fact its looks shit

im not even suggesting anything 'shoe connoisseur' or 'sneakerhead' like, i didnt say go buy Raf Simon velcros or Rick Owens Geobaskets, i just suggested good looking, staple shoes

>Appearance matters whether you like it or not
Yes, appearance does matter, but only when you are around people who actually matter.

I have good button-down shirts and slacks, all in good shape, and good pairs of dress shoes that I wear to work.
Appearance matters there, because I can run into a manager or director any time.

But when I wear my autism shoes and baggy jeans, I'm going out to grab groceries, or fixing up my yard, or something like that.
Even if you buy /fa/ shoes like in this thread, you can't use them to impress anyone that actually matters.

Therefore, in my opinion, if you care about appearance, focus on getting a good wardrobe of business-casual and business-formal clothes.

Spending time and money on these types of shoes has no value.
>>
They do in fact look like the generic trainers my autistic brother wears

but then my mum gets them for him

I jut wear puma suedes and nice brogues for other outfits
>>
>>29237011
i dont even know what we're arguing about, we both agree autism shoes looks like shit lol
>>
>>29236607
Isn't that the basis for what's fashionable?
>>
>>29237030
My point is that when you are in any kind of social situation where you don't have to wear dress shoes, it is a really casual event, and nobody will care if you wear autism shoes.

Why, in that case, would you not go with the more comfortable option?

Not only are the shoes in this thread less comfortable than tennis shoes, but you can't use them to impress anybody. It's discomfort for no benefit, and they are stupidly expensive on top of that.
>>
>>29236607
Air Force 1s are a classic regardless.

you're talking about 'beaters' everyone has a pair of beaters i agree, a pair of comfy casual shoes u just put on for whatever.
Even in that case, strike a balance, i wear pic related as beaters. You're over exaggerating the comfy vs fashionable dichotomy, shoes can look nice and still be comfy
>>

>Puma suedes

My nigga. They discontinued the line i liked so i got some cole haans instead, but goddamn the material on the Clydes was so superior

>having to spend actual time and money on shoe selection as a man

The threshold for entering society is too high for my taste. I didn't even know people actually looked at shoes, I can barely tell the brands apart.
>>
>>29236247
If you want to pull off running shoes, you have to wear the track suit and undershirt too.

Pulling a squat and having a smoke helps keep frame.

It's all about context. If you wear sports shoes while not doing sports or hiking shoes when not hiking, they are autism shoes.

I have pretty small feet, size six in the UK. What shoes should I wear?

I wear a lot of clothes like pic related, sweaters and stuff

Like this in the summer

I'm pretty autistic, and it took me a while to wear passable clothes, but I never know what shoes to wear
