Not very easily. Old gaming communities will often have a channel and you have to try and seek them out. Most will just be tiny communities of ~100 users.
4chan has a channel on Rizon (#4chan) but I've never been there. It'll be the reclusive neckbeard and weeb kinds that populate it.

I swear to god, this image is so accurate. In high school, I was the captain of the chess club for three years, and this exact thing happened.
My freshman year, everything was great; we only had four members (including myself), plus some autistic guy that occasionally hung out with us. We all had fun.
Sophomore year, those guys graduated, and I was put in charge. I recruited a small number of people, most of which were legitimate chess players, and all was good. But then, as people began inviting some of their friends to come, the first of the femalesa majority of them neither knew how to play chess, nor did they really make an attempt to learnstarted to join. From that point, everything started rapidly devolving into absolute chaos. More and more females joined, and they attracted Chad, and Chad attracted yet more females. People would scream, shout, and get into physical altercations, never even touching a chess piece the entire meeting. Every meeting was choking and stressful.
Junior year, one of the females managed to weasel her way into becoming my co-captain. She wasn't half as devoted to the club as I was, but the sheer number of stacies and chads in support of her made it an inevitability. They even tried to get rid of me. The librarian kept a much closer eye on them this year, so there was a bit less chaos, but they were still pretty loud, disruptive, and violent. Eventually, all the females decided to leave for other social opportunities, even my "co-captain", and only four people, all males, remained. It was just liked my freshman year, except that this bunch were a bit more crude and troublesome.
Senior year, no longer occupied by sports etc., the females returned. I tried to organize a separate, unofficial club with others, but it never came to be. I just tuned out until graduation.
The following year, after I graduated, I heard that the stacies gained total control of the club, and everything went to absolute shit.

I got into chess in middle school. To get better at chess once you know all the rules, start doing chess puzzles and practicing regularly. If you are serious about improving, start going to tournaments on a regular basis and buy some study materials. Almost anyone can be decent at chess if they give it enough time and effort.
