the fact that it sounds weird to you is a red flag m8. this is a temporal board for people, I've noticed. you come here and feel better for a while until you accept that you are legit in a crisis. then you start trying to fix your problem. it isnt weird to have a job, at least live alone and cruise. past that you decide if you want to further improve your situation. legit, living alone and having a steady job is a baseline. from there you work to live alone in increasingly better places and meet critique your social circle bit by bit. it sucks, but think of this grind as something you do around what makes you happy. I worked for a few years, every morning waking with crippling anxiety of interacting with others. Extreme paranoia that others were always talking about me. I'd get panic attacks before meetings or even when I knew I was going to have to talk to someone.
Father left me a sizable inheritance so I quit and live in his house and only spend my disability checks for money. The inheritance only pays for yearly taxes on the home and I have groceries delivered. I haven't left my property in months.
Honestly won't ever leave the house again except to do yard work. I feel great.

I'm on supergimmedats and living alone, I'm not a eighteen year old that never worked, I drove a truck for years before my mental health started getting worse and people started noticing. I'm still disappointing my parents, but not nearly as much as I was when I was homeless, or living with them, or in a crack motel, or getting 5150'ed.
I'm not saying this shit is paradise, just that compared to being on welfare and dealing with dope fiends all day every day, or in the shelter, it's a blessing to just lock my door and not go outside for a week at a time.

You don't have to go work at McDonald's for minimum wage 40 hours a week, but you should find some way to put that money to use.

I love the NEET life, but the shame, the worry, the anxious feeling, panicking every time your family wants to talk about your future is too much.

Being a Neet ain't all that bad. Sure if you spend all your time simply staring at the computer you'll get bored, it's natural. I suggest you find something new to do, I know it sounds cliche but get a hobby, it does wonders. Personally I to was miserable staying inside all day all alone browsing the chans, then I discovered climbing and it sparked a new sense of adventure in me, and now I spend lots of my time hiking mountains and climbing it's walls. It might be dangerous, but at least it makes me happy. I have also been a wagecuck, and that was truly miserable, allways checking the time to see how much more time of freedom I had left before I had to go back to work robbing me of my sense of freedom, but even working can be rewarding in the end when you finally quit. Now I have saved up a good amount of money and have the possibility to take some time off and do what I want to do for a while, before I find something new to do. Don't take your freedom for granted and doing nothing with it, it's now that you have the possibility to better yourself as a person and do the things you truly want.

I use to want to help them and gave them advice, told them to save for education to get courses finished so they can re-enter the labor market and be useful members of the community, but now I just get pissed that they're wasting my time, most of them didn't listen to my advice anyway and when I did manage to give them some help they'd misuse the credit and fuck themselves over because of it and of course it was someone else's fault, not theirs.
