About a hundred years ago you could swim in the Hudson River (it divides New York and New Jersey). These ruins are part of the resort buildings that existed for the clientele. Lots of little parks past the George Washington bridge on the Jersey side.

I drive a lot at night myself and have for several years now, and I am a lonely and depressed college student. It eats gas and I'm worried my car will give out much sooner than I can afford, but I just get the urge to move around, even if it's just driving around aimlessly through the city and the surrounding roads and highways.
