Did /r9k/ watch The Witch? It was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen, almost as good as The Babadook and Alien (1979). Great atmospheric horror, much better than the teen slasher garbage that kreps coming out.
>>
It's retarded feminist propaganda. Herp derp traditional family is bad, herp derp we must smash the patriarchy, herp derp your father is shit, herp derp male sexuality is terrible, herp derp motherhood is futile, herp derp let's just fuck goats, herp derp there's a nice SJW coven to accept you.
>>
>>29216952
Are you a retard? The moive was about how being forced into a strict religious life can drive you to evil, not feminism you fuckhead. I assume you're one of te faggots who say the same shit about Mad Max: Fury Road.
>>
>>29216863
Ja I saw it. Pretty good but it's not the typical horror film. Loved the ending. A big fuck you to christianity.
>>
>>29217084
It wasn't about that either. It was quite literally a pointless movie without any particular significance. There was no lesson, no moral behind it. It's just a horror story about a sinful family that succumbs to the influence of evil.
>>
>>29217101
It did a fantastic job of buiding atmosphere and making you feel uneasy too. And the fuckin goat was the best.
>>
>he thinks the witch and babadook are good
is life even worth living when your IQ is that low?
>>
>>29217139
Even if that's all you see it as, you can't deny that it was a very well crafted movie. The writing, directing, and acting were all on point, and the lack of cgi made it even better.
>>
>>29217175
Let's see what you think a good horror movie is. I'm dying to know.
>>
>>29217189
>can't deny that it was a very well crafted movie. T
Totally, loved the pointless meandering story, the sound quality that literally made every single word incomprehensible and the visuals that looked like they filmed the entire thing through a sheet.
>>
That little kid in the babadook pissed me off so much that it ruined the movie for me
>>
>>29217220
I'm not that guy but I think Noroi is a lot more scary than this

Paranormal activity
>>
>>29217221
I understood everything the actors daid, maybe you just have bad speakers/headphones. And the time of puritan america was a very dreary time, the fact that the movie was filmed in muted, greyed out colors reflected that.
>>
>>29216863
good film. Why was the goat such an asshole? like come on dude, just like, y'no, be nice.
>>
>>29217268
Nice bait lad
>>
normalfags really like this movie. Why?
>>
>>29217293
Did you hear how much trouble they had working with that goat? It made the entire filming process a nightmare.
>>
>>29217293
He was Satan in animal form. Kick ass movie, that blonde actress is really something.

Even the tiniest bit of feminism must be attacked, anon.
>>
>>29216952
Holy shit how do you people get through life when you see le ebil feminist sjws everywhere?

And apparently you were retarded enough to think the movie portrayed the witch's coven as a positive thing.

The father and the family in general were RIGHT. They really WERE the targets of a witch.
>>
>>29217319
Actually general moviegoers did not like this movie. It was marketed as a regular horror flick, when it was really a slow burn, artsy, atmospheric movie.
>>
>>29217278
>And the time of puritan america was a very dreary time
And another one falls for the retarded propaganda for retards.

Just as they are the targets of feminism and cultural marxism right now yet you refuse to believe it.

Because they are everywhere.

AKA "we have about 5 minutes of script, but the morons from whatever film funding board gave us money for a full length movie, let's just pad it with fucking nothing".
>>
>>29217243
Yeah the kid was pretty annoying in the first half, but I loved the story and the directing style enough to look past it.
>>
I spent the entire movie waiting for the "horror" part of it until the credits started rolling and I realized that I had been rused. I also had difficulty parsing the dialogue.
>>
>>29216863
Good cinematography and performances but it was boring and not scary.

>>29217268
PA is unironically a better horror movie than the witch

It Follows is still the best modern horror movie I've seen in a while.

Genuinely pretty scary (at least I thought so). Plus, it has kind of a comfy feel, which I find hard to explain.
>>
>>29217420
>I can't appreciate cinematography and character actions as a method of story telling
>I need everything to be explained by exposition in clear dialogue
>>

My favorite new horror movie is it follows
>>
>>29217436
Paranormal Activity is a steaming pile of shit that needs to stop being made.
>>
>>29217395
So by your logic the movie was actually anti-feminist propaganda.
>>
I only like horror movies with cool special effects and gore. The V V itch was pretty boring
>>
>>29217447
> it has kind of a comfy feel
definitely. had that super 8 vibe of abandoned children going it on their own in the suburbs

cinematography reminded me of carpenter? so that too.
>>
>>29217458
People like the guy you replied to should just stick to slasher flicks.
>>
>>29216863
too slow and boring for my taste. the atmosphere was good in the film but im a blood and gore kinda guy.
>>
I saw it in the theater and I liked it enough. The funny thing was at least 3 couples left during the film, probably because it's really depressing/not a thriller at all.

I have to say though that one scene had me clutching my mantitty for dear life, that was gruesome
>>
>>29217566
I can respect that, I like my share of gorefest movies too sometimes.
>>
>>29217497
>Super 8
That was such a fun movie, loved every minute of it.
>>
>>29217572
Yeah they really mismarketed The Witch. Not a thriller at all.
>>
>>29217458
Well, is Scarface a gangster or anti-gangster propaganda?
>>
I'm going to watch it now. I love a good horror movie.
>>
Was the babadook ruined for anyone else when they used that stock monster noise? The screeching noise. I think Motaro from one of the MK games had it too. I immediately recognized it.
>>
>>29217734
Trust me, this is a great one. You won't be disappointed.
>>
>>29217759
Honestly didn't notice. That's probably for the best though.

"Black Phillip says you are wicked!"
>>
The best part is when Mercy comes up to Thomasin and Caleb by the stream and claims to be the witch of the woods and starts saying "CLICKITY CLACKITY CLICKITY CLACKITY" and also when Mercy and Jonas are chasing around Black Phillip while singing that rhyme.

Does anybody know what the coven is chanting at the very end? I'm sure it's in Latin but I can't understand any of it.
>>
Badly made hipster horror in the same vein as It Follows or Babadook, TRASHMASTER 5000 COME HERE!
>>

The alternate ending to PA was so much better than that "LE SCARY FAEC" bullshit.
