I dont get it /r9k/. I have been depressed for years, even when I had a great job making 85k/year I was still depressed as fuck. Im currently unemployed and literally feel the exact same. Its either complete numbness or being suicidal.
I started lifting weights a few years ago to ward off the suicidal thoughts but it only works temporally.
I've never had issues with getting a girl or being charismatic in social situations but it just feels like an act. Im in better physical shape than I ever thought possible, I have regular sex and have a decent social life but still can't figure out why I feel this way.
Is there literally no way to fix this without taking pills?

normally I advise against pills but it sounds like you tried actually confronting your issues with some reasonable responses, find a good psych doc, talk to them honestly and consider medication because you sound like you actually have actual brain chemistry issues.

Unsolved traumas from childhood or teenage years maybe? You might also have a mental disorder that's causing all the depression. You should definitely go see a psychiatrist/psychologist and let them figure out what's up with you.
You've already tried to fix the depression on your own and there's no shame in talking to professionals and hopefully getting a proper medication
