>liked the first Conjuring, saw it with my mom years ago
>want to see the second one, mom is on business trip and said she'll just wait for it to come out on Netflix and she doesn't mind if i go to see it at theaters without her
>approach ticket booth and am asked who I'm with
>say I'm just by myself
>"I'm sorry, sir, but our No Singles Policy requires me to refuse to sell you a ticket. You can come back if you have a friend or a date to see the movie with."

Jesus christ, when did this become a thing?

Isn't this because of that dude that shot up the movie theater?
>>
Is this really a thing? I don't think it is.
>>

That never happened it's a terrible business model.
>>
>>29198644
That's exactly why the policy is in place
You can tell who the extreme shut ins are because they think it's made up
>>
This isn't a real thing. It's trolls trying to demoralize robots and prevent you from going out to do anything in real life.
>>
>>29198382
Congratulations you're now experiencing the reality of life after a mass shooting.
>>

What country you in anon? I assume you live in the states I'm an american and I have never encountered this. Is it a west coast thing.
>>
Yes it's real, ask /tv/
Every movie theater has an undercover that's on the look out for creeps, autists and loner white males.

I rarely go to movie theaters anyway, but holy shit, that's just not right, this can't be a real thing.

It is a west coast thing. I used to live in Aurora, CO. They hired security guards and shit after the shooting. I'm preety sure they had a no singles policy at that theater. I didn't think other joints would follow suit.

checked

And it's not a real thing, it's a /tv/ meme that non-americans took seriously and started spreading
