Actually most Linux users I know are able to play off the sexualized movie portrayals of hackers and cryptographers, and can easily talk to the opposite sex. Add to this the linguistic intuition and sharp tongue developed by using the command-line constantly, and the loads of free time they have because they've automated the boring parts of their life out, which they spend keeping up with the latest pop culture and expanding their own talents and knowledge.
It's like being a NEET except they're highly paid, visible at conferences and other public events, and literally everything they do is interesting (if it wasn't they'd have a script to do it).

I'm switching to Windows because I'm just bored all the time. If I had some more video games I might be less bored. So I'm in the process of creating the installation media at the moment. It's tgetting to the point that I'm so bored that I tried to kill myself the other day. So, something needs to change. This is my first change. Had ubuntu a couple years ago, but switched back to windows after a month. Theres was too much problems and it was a time sink to solve them.
I've heard things are much better these days, and seeing how MS is in the data mining business, I might switch over... well, when there is more support for games. I don't want to dual boot just for games.

Consoles games generally don't have mod support, plus a lot of high end games are exclusive to the PC.
On top of that, most internet gaming communities are based on PC games.
If you take your gaming moderately seriously then you're much better of with a PC. I hate saying this but consoles really are better suited for causal players who can't be bothered to with all the extra hassle.
