From everything I've seen and heard he's a bit of a tard. He does well in terms of speaking down to his base and generating controversy for free press but that's about all he does well in, everything else is retarded policy positions and dogwhistling.
My personal theory is that he's down on his luck (again) and decided that a run for president would be just the thing to get his brand back on top. It's legitimately the most cynical campaign I've ever seen or heard about.
