Do any of you lads know anything about tenancy laws? I've had ongoing problems with the property I'm renting through a lettings agent, and when I complained that the problem has been going on for ages with no solution they said that there isn't anything they can do without authorisation from the landlord. But then I was speaking to a plumber who came round about it, and he reckons that the lettings agents have a responsibility to sort out the problem themselves (and charge it to the landlord i guess) without the landlord if its been going on for too long.
Is that true? and if it is could you link me to something that lays the law out, I couldn't find it myself and I'm looking for proof to see whether I have a case to take them to small claims court over claiming some rent back or something
