Alright, so lets start at the start. My father is a drug addict of the harder more illegal variety, and my mother is one of the legal in illegal ways type. My uncle runs a carnival during the summer months. Yes, a real one, no not a nice upstanding one. I worked with him for a short time picking up trash, putting up stands, a brief excursion with accounting, but when I was asked to handle illegal activities that could land me in prison, I got into a argument, and had to seek other employment due to my prompt termination, and lack of paycheck, or deposit return, in addition to petty theft of my backpack containing my wallet, change of cloths, and my father's pocket knife. This, combined with the recent angering of my uncle landed me on the street at the age of 17. Homelessness was not a huge deal, since I could pass for a young adult at this point, considering a couple facial scars that had recently been acquired. I did not reveal the nature of my situation, or my identity, finding work with a construction crew that did not ask many questions, and living in a mobile home where my neighbors were drug dealers, and other undesirables with no taxable income. Upon my 18th birthday I purchased a cupcake, and a candle. Then told myself
"I will not be poor again."

With my now legal working age, I went about getting a over the table job working at a gas station, a small place that was transitioning from a c-store over to a sort of fast food place. I embellished my job history claiming to have been a cook for my uncle's carnival, though was hired initially to pump gas, as it was a full service station. A couple weeks into my employment at the end of the shift, a cook had left without the second shift having shown up while I was still taking care of my things at the conclusion of my shift. So I washed my hands, and began preparing the food as I had observed it being done, the boss had not seen me in the kitchen at first, only seeing the food out, and in proper condition that he did not notice anything was wrong until halfway into the shift when he asked for the name of the cook, and was told she was not in. He went over, and saw me whipping up the food. It was at this point that he said
"We are going to train you proper here."
I worked with him for the rest of the evening, it was a little basic, his training meothed being geared towards people who were a little on the slow side, but I did not let it show, being respectful, and responsive I worked with him through the whole training process. Then he called me up one day to come, and learn how to work as a cashier. After a little whole longer after my shift he told me to come with him to his office. He said
"Anon, I want to hire someone to replace X, and he will be taking your shifts pumping gas."
My heart sank at first, and for a moment. Then he followed it by saying
"You will be working as a assistant manager from here on out."

I was working this job, and ended up moving out of the shitty trailer during this time as well, getting a apartment that is nice, and in a nicer area than the trailer park by a significant margin. Overtime I have been transitioning to take on more of the work of running the building, and it is to the point where he is only by this store once a month. I am currently 19, having recently had a birthday. That is about it with my venture through capitalism. I have heard a number of stories from people running the gas station, and know of a large variety of job opportunities in town that are left unfilled. I have plans to try, and buy my own store, and go independent in the near future, with a number of potential fallback positions lined up if that does not work out as well. On the side I have recently taken up computer repair, seeing as the only other person doing that is best buy, and it is a 50 minute drive from where we are located, the boss having permitted me to advertise for that in the store. The computer repair being mainly over the phone, and through pickup/dropoff/in house work. It is high profit, but less stable. So that is about it for now, I think.
