If you were to go by 4chan statistics 90% of the population is a doctor/engineer.

How many of these people do you think are just kids day-dreaming about what they wish they were smart enough to become and telling lies on the internet?
>>

I think Wallstreet stock broker is the most Chad job. Maybe lawyer too.

>having the most Chad job

You work insane hours in shitty conditions, probably have to touch blood and shit on a regular basis, the pay doesn't mean much because of your insane med school debt, one little mistake could ruin you thanks to malpractice lawsuits, you deal with the emotional trauma of watching your patients die (unless you're something gay like a dermatologist), and to top it all off most of your patients and their families don't respect you and constantly give you shot despite the fact that you're saving their lives. It's not a Chad job at all.

Wrong. Most Chad job is obviously professional athlete in a popular sport like basketball, football, soccer, baseball, or hockey.

You know what would be even better?
Receiving steady income without having to sweat away at a time consuming job.

I've heard a lot of things like this about being a pharm. Is it really true? Seems hard to get away with. Even if it were true, you'd be dealing with fatties and geriatrics all day.

I work at a small local grocery right now. We have 3 pharmacists. One works from open to close every day. It's only like 30 hours a week. Ive been trying to get the balls to ask one of them about their job. The guy really respects me I know. Once he complimented me on how I dealt with customers. Now he always says hi to me and stuff.

>>
>>29136779
If youre not a woman minority you will not get into a good med school with a gpa that low and a c in orgo... Sorry friend, you have better been volunteering at a couple of local hospitals for the last few years AND blow the mcat out of the water or you are absolutely fucked. Honestly as a biology major most medical schools expect a very high gpa 3.7 or above because there are so many damn bio majors applying and the biology coursework is relatively easy compared to more difficult majors(chemistry/engineering)
>>
>>29136897
My dad's a doctor. He did Chemical Engineering and got 4 B's, the rest being A's

You'll have to do better than that, especially if you're not a hispanic female who can affirmative action their way to an MD

To add to my post however (take note kid), I've done some ecology field work research with a PhD student, and some plant genetics research with a professor. I'm also thinking about starting a MBTI club at uni, but we'll see. I've been trying to get a hospital job for a while to no avail. Looking into getting EMT certified or some sort of certification to boost my job resume.

Well, it was nice knowing yall. Maybe I can bring up the GPA. With my back against the wall, I should perform very well. This is analogous to using 100% of your muscle fibers when necessary, like when lifting a boulder off of you.

>>29137044
I had a similar gpa my junior year and I straight failed orgo with two other c's. I got in to a mid tier school but I literally got straight A's my junior and senior years and did okay on the mcat. Also start doing ec's they are vital

>What are you going to spend all that money on? Something makes me doubt that you would be a decent human being and donate a lot of it to charity

Medtard detected

Real price of /med/ is no life in college and being a whiny bitch every moment of your boring life. You are not special, you do a job just like 90% of the population.

Plus, forget your dream about reaching the top of your field or whatever bullshit you fantasize about. With so much competition, everyone falls out of the rat race at some point.

Finally, your ace in the hole. "Lol, I'm going to make so much money!". Reality is that you are going to be surrounded by other doctors and successful professionals, and your life isn't going to seem that great compared to your peers. Enjoy posting on 4chan to postpone your suicide.
>>
>>29137250
Not op but also a medfag

>no life in college
I'm a robot but I have plenty of free time undergrad is not very strenuous. It's med school where the grind starts but even then I have a fair amount of free time for my hobbies and if I was social, socializing

>you are not special
You sound mad tbqh

>dream of reaching top of your field
Not my dream at all. I want to work 7 on 7 off as a hospitalist (grunt position of docs) in a cozy apartment flying off to lavish vacations on the weekend

>Reality is that you are going to be surrounded by other doctors and successful professionals, and your life isn't going to seem that great compared to your peers

This is absolutely retarded unless you're some prick who just lives to be better than everyone around you and flaunt your wealth. Just because everyone around you is wealthy does not mean that the benefits of your own wealth are nullified.
>>
>>29137385
I'm the guy who will likely kill himself.

I lift, and expect to lose all my gains if by some chance I do get in. Is it possible to have 1.5hrs, 3x per week of free time to exercise? From my knowledge of what I've heard, any free time is hard to come by in med school.
>>
>>29137424
dis a good question and it needs answering
>>
>>29137424
Yes that is extremely doable. My schedule was like this

Class 7 hours a day/sleep 7/ study 3

That's seventeen hours leaving you at least five to do whatever you want after commutes, food, dressing etc. Also the end of the week is more lax so you could change your schedule accordingly
>>
I'm considering it. Actually my sister is applying too. We might both end up doing led school at the same time even though she's several years older than me, and she offered to pay for me if I do decide to go that route. I like working with bodies, but I have a lot of moral issues with becoming a doctor or related profession. I'll probably get over it though, because money.

> Study 3 hours a day
Are you not in America? Everyone says you've got to study from 8am to 10pm every day. This from people I know, YouTube, and other sources.
>>
>>29137385
>>29137424
desu i had even more free time in med school. I was literally bored out of my skull during MS2 and ended up going to the gym daily.

>>29137250
not everyone wants to be top of their field, im fine with being in the middle of the pack

>>29136897
For your first two years do well in school, figuring out how to get involved in basic science research, shadowing, clinical volunteering, etc. In the latter half, focus on being more heavily involved in those ECs, such as putting out papers, leadership roles in volunteering groups, etc. It's also nice if you have a unique hobby but you dont need to.

If you hit a hard quarter and get a couple of B's or a C, dont give up and just keep working at it. You dont need to kill yourself studying 8 hours a day, but you need to very clearly see the big picture and have your goals set from the get-go.

>>29136779
If you truly want to be a doctor, don't give up. You can always apply to DO schools with much more lax requirements. I would recommend against going beyond that (carribean schools) but obviously a lot of people from those schools still end up landing residency spots in the US, it's just a much harder route and if you're too dumb to get into even DO schools then there's a high chance that you might fail.
>>
>>29137608
Some study more effectively than others. Those that cannot keep up will not.
>>
>>29137516
I had probably 8 hours of free time a day every day during college and even more during med school. It was only until april of MS2 when step 1 started coming around the corner that my freedom disappeared. Obviously MS3 takes a huge toll, but during MS4 I frequently found myself with more time on my hands than I knew what to do with.

>>
>>29137608
How would that even be possible with lectures buddy. Obviously I put in more time when lectures near but this is general
>>
>>29137715
>>29137693
Obviously you'd be learning (studying) during lectures. But I hope you all are normal, and not super autistic savants. If you both are right, that lowers my stress level (if I can even get in), so I hope you both are!
>>
>>29137926
I'm not an autistic savant. I'm a relatively lazy person with a slightly above average intelligence but I'm good at keeping my priorities straight for the long game.

If you can't get into a US MD school, which you can't with a 3.3, DO schools will be happy to take you. Just dont let your grades slip PAST 3.3.
