In theory, a meaningful, aesthetic tattoo can genuinely accentuate the skin and person it's inked onto.
In practice, it's either meaningless, a stupid concept, poorly-drawn, in an unfitting place, doesn't go well with the person, or a combination of the above. I have yet to see a tattoo actually meet all of these criteria. It's more often than not impulsive, ugly, degenerate garbage that the person will spend their remaining lifetime convincing themselves looks good.

I was always fascinated by tattoos, so obviously I got some when I was old enough. Prancing to cover both sleeves, back, A bit of chest and maybe stomach if I ever lose enough weight (gathers around my waist), I keep my legs reserved for "trophies" like for example I took my first win in the ring and got myself a memento for it.
I also loooove tats on girls, that's if they're well done and actually look good. No trend shits mind you.
That being said, ugly tattoos are ugly and should not be taken ever. Tribals can look good, but more often then not do not. Shit like barbwire, angel wings, diamonds, other corny trend shit should not exist. Wouldn't either take any on my face, but I guess to each their own.
I don't think taking tats as itself is a sign of stupidity. Stupid people do stupid things, so they take cheap, shitty tats without any idea put into it. Smarter people think, design, put effort into getting what they want and will pay accordingly. To me, It's a hobby of sorts. None other than my trophy tattoos have any real meaning behind them, they just look nice and just the way I like them. Sure, you can throw the stigma argument, but tattoos are normal where I live, anyone might have them.
