Say when you plan on seeking a job in the next week or so but find yourself up still at 9:30am and ready to fall asleep any minute. How do you go about fixing your sleep schedule so you don't do this?

Get a job in a call center for a year. Get fired and have literally no intention of ever working again.

bite the bullet and stay up until 8;30 pm that night and fall asleep then, wake up 12 hours later.
I'm in the same situation except without the job part. You just keep staying up later each day until it goes back to normal.
Play video games so it pumps you full of dopamine and keeps you awake.

Skip sleep until a reasonable time.

this try to stay up as long as possible without your brain bursting, then go to sleep.
it'll take about 1-2 weeks to get to a decent normie sleep schedule.
also beware waking up at nighttime is very depressing
