Central planning is a sure-fire way of fucking up an economy. A government will never make better decisions than the individuals themselves because it's their own necks on the line. If you think that state economic planning is necessary to prevent the Tragedy of the Commons, this is invalid as this economic depletion depends upon assymetric information and and no technological advancement resulting in higher productivity of capital. The latter of the two we now know is a major driver of aggregate growth.

Every political system works according to its own hypothetical assumptions, and every theory leaves out all of its own downfalls. Communism destroys incentives for productivity. Capitalism creates incentives for productivity, but it puts too much power in the hands of the freak successes and has no counterbalances for market dominance and wage slavery.
