Comfy thread: Movie edition
What's the comfiest movie in your opinion?
Mine is pic releated.
I love the second half of the movie its so comfy with the water train and forest
I hate watching KDS because it brings back a depressing nostalgia of watching it as a kid.
Summer Wars is really comfy, but I get pretty emotional during it too. Perfect comfy movies don't move you too much
Whisper of the Heart is THE comfiest Ghibli movie and you OP and >>29100027
are simply wrong
Why even bother making a thread when you've already posted the comfiest movie ever, OP? Thread is over.
There is no movie comfier than Kiki's Delivery Service. None.

The Pokemon movies are pretty comfy to me as well, especially Pokemon 2000, Jirachi Wish Maker, and Destiny Deoxys.
What movie is really comfy AND rewatchable?
>>29101602
Whisper of the Heart is also top-tier but Kiki's Delivery Service is slightly better. Spirited Away is highly overrated.
>>29100027
>with the water train
That's definitely one of the comfiest movie scenes ever for sure.
>[Girls in Byakkoya intensifies]
>>29101650
All Ghibli movies are comfy in some form, and they're all rewatchable (minus Tales From Earthsea).
>>29101602
Yes it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PcPktuHSJo
>>29101644
Destiny Deoxys is fucking god tier
>>29101684
> Spirited Away is highly overrated.
I've seen every ghibli movie and spirited away is my favorite.
>>29101684
Holy shit I've seen some wrong opinions in my time, but damn
Un homme qui dort (The man who sleeps) is very comfy
The thing I find amazing about Kiki's Delivery Service is that it doesn't follow the majority of movie's rules. Whether people realize it or not, what makes movies entertaining is CONFLICT. If there is no conflict, the movie will be boring as fuck. Conflict is what moves a story forward.
But not Kiki's. There really is no conflict in this movie. It's just some girl living her life. And somehow that is entertaining to watch.. The fact that there is no conflict is what probably makes this movie so comfy.

Right?

The conflict in Kiki is within. It's about a girl struggling with insecurity and self-sufficiency. A lot of Miyazaki characters have that.

Ghibli quality ranking:
My Neighbor Totoro > Kiki's Delivery Service > Ponyo > Whisper of the Heart > Princess Mononoke > The Wind Rises > Spirited Away > Porco Rosso > The Cat Returns > Castle in the Sky > Grave of the Fireflies > Pom Poko > From Up on Poppy Hill > Howl's Moving Castle > Arretty > Only Yesterday > My Neighbors the Yamadas
Haven't seen the others.
>>29100255
I know what you mean.
I doubt I'll ever be able to watch it again. I'd have an easier time watching Hostel or some other type of "torture porn".
Because even that would be less painful than going back to childhood and looking at how ruined everything got.
>>29101818
I'll have to re watch destiny deoxys soon. Pokemon Heros is also very underrated.
>>29101890
>ponyo that high
>howls moving castle that low
shiggy
stop the studio shillbi train plz
Shallow, children's animations are cute, maybe even endearing sometimes, but the childishness of it get on my nerves.
>>29101924
Oh that's another good one. Basically the unique locations in the Pokemon movies are top quality comfy.
>>29100255
This. Watching shit I saw as a kid just makes me sad for how good thing used to be and how shit they are now. I'm also afraid re-watching will sort of overwrite my old memories.
>>29101983
>the childishness of it get on my nerves
In that case I recommend The Wind Rises and Porco Rosso.
>>29101924
The Deoxys movie sucks imo.
But most of the movies are pretty decent. Though none tops The First Movie for me because muh nostalgia. And Mewtwo is my favorite 'mon.
>>29101983
I think you forgot something, my man
>>29102273
I'd definitely say that the movies declined after Mewtwo Strikes Back, but I just find the world itself and the locations in it really compelling. It must be really fun to design and imagine them
>>29101718
Why is earthsea bad?
I really liked the Look of the City in that one
>Comfy movies
>Everyone posts shit-tier anime movies
>>29102581
You're welcome to contribute anon. Here's a western movie I find comfy
>>29101983
agreed, ghibli sucks. miyazaki is an overrated hack
