What's your opinion and experiences on antidepressants? I've just been prescribed some and I want to hear what you guys think of them and if you have any stories. I have yet to start them myself, I'm quite apprehensive.

Improved my mental health by 25%

kept me from suiciding though the urges do come back but are rare and I'm more resilient.

Helped me with both anxiety and depression.

However, I think it also reduced my motivation and sex drive.

Also, it is a pain to stop taking, as you will feel like shit. For example you'll feel like your brain is getting electrically shocked routinely.

take modafinil instead it alters mood

screw that normie shit

I take 20mg cit daily and have been for about 6 months.

Its helped the nerves and depression.. I still have my same (destructive) hobbies but I dont get panic attacks.

Overall I think it made me care less about everything, including my job, so dont know if thats a plus or a negitive

I still get depressive episodes, but they are not as severe and dont last long at all.

Helped a bit with my appetite.

Harder for me to orgasm, but not a major side effect. Noticeable though

Definitely know when I miss a day.. feels odd and your brain gets this rushes. Dosnt feel like a 'zap' to me like some people.. more of a rush and I feel manic

I suppose they helped in the long run. 50mg Zoloft for 6 months now, my anxiety has definitely lessened. Depression? Debatable, but atleast I'm not a nervous hyperventilating wreck anymore.

Also made drinking 10x more fun. Sex drive is still pretty much the same, might take a little longer to orgasm but that's a good thing.

>Took ~50-60mg of prozac a day for about ~2 years
Did absolutely nothing. Seriously I took this shit for around 2 years and the only thing it changed was making me $50 a month poorer
>Paxil for ~8 months, 30mg a day I think
Did nothing just like prozac
>Took zoloft for 3 months
Threw the shit out after I was tired of wasting money on placebos

SSRIs are a load of shit. I don't understand how anyones had success with them but I could say the same about placebos.

same

life was already rekt, but they do permanently change your brain

made me think of suicide more often

"It now seems beyond question that the traditional account of depression as a chemical imbalance in the brain is simply wrong." Irving Kirsch, academic expert in placebos.

Fluvoxamine did jack shit, escitalopram + venlafaxine + weekly visits to the shrink helped a lot. Dick was limp though so I even got prescribed viagra.
>>
Citalopram did some weird shit to me, lad.

Can only explain it is diminished morality. I know what is wrong and right but it's like it calcified my ability to chemically give a fuck about bad things, forever.
>>
I couldn't orgasm on those fucking things, it was nightmare fuel.

Came off of them after a month because it made me feel like a robot too, then my sexual dysfunction went on for a couple of weeks afterwards making me worried it was forever
>>
Waste of time and money imo.
Tried 3 and had various experiences but nothing positive or negative, felt like a money sink.

Citalopram - it's not an antidepressant, it's a general anti-emotion drug. I stopped taking it because I was watching Kanon 2006 (fansubs as it was airing) and I did not experience the intended feels. I recently rewatched it and I cried like a girl at the end of Makoto's arc, which is what is supposed to happen.

Mirtazapine - also ineffective as an antidepressant, and made me extremely tired even after 2 months. Made me super horny at first and made fapping feel awesome. I got friction burns on my dick from fapping too much and I can still see minor scarring from one (only noticeable because I know where to look). Also caused short term memory loss, which worried me enough that I quit.

> 50mg zoloft

stopped after a month.. it just made me more numb, which was already the problem. like all other "treatments" for depression it was incredibly underwhelming. iv given up on getting help now, its shit trying one thing after another and always being disappointed
