if i drop it on the floor, i toss it away
if it falls on my lap or desk, i pick it up, wash it/blow dust off, and then eat it.

I eat it. There is no bacteria on the ground that could be more harmful than the ones you already have in your hands or body. The human body is made to be immune from all this stuff.
