Why is it women always have entry level and/or pleb tier tastes? It's not even a hipster sort of complaint, if one is truly into a form of media they will indulge themselves in it willingly at more than a surface level. The fact that none of their favorites are ever routinely something other than these or other massively popular titles implies that they don't delve deeper, as if they did, out of the numerous less popular titles they have consumed, surely at least one would be their favorite, but it's not.
Women also flaunt their "interests" around much more than men do. If a woman is a "gamer" you'll instantly know it, for instance, the concept of hiding their power level doesn't exist. It's foolish to say "women only have hobbies for attention" because I'm sure they genuinely enjoy some stuff.
Why? Can we discuss this? I don't want the thread to die because it's wordier than most others.

Women tend to take hobbies with whom you could connect with other people more as reading popular stuff. They dont particularly care about having deep knowledge in that subject. As regarding video games, most of them play just to gather attention or kill time.

Because they have no passion, and therefore, never truly invest themselves in anything. This is seen more than anywhere in (competitive) video games. Women are always drawn to games that require no skill/competition (animal crossing, the sims, pokemon, singstar) because they do not feel any desire to improve, after failing something. Meanwhile, men will dedicate themselves to getting good at something, which leads to the any relevant female in any e-sport ever being Eloise, and she plays hearthstone which has a relatively low skill ceiling. This same attitude is reflected in everything outside of vidya, and results in women being incredibly shallow, with no real interest in anything.

It's probably because 99% of the girls you meet are tumblr thots. On the surface those are the girls that seem to have the most in common with you. I'm a girl and off the top of my head, god hand and SotN are my favourite games, Das Parfum is my favourite novel, and Le Feu Follet is my favourite movie. There are plenty of girls like me, but the tumblr thots flaunt themselves out more while we keep our interests to ourselves.
Also, every gamer guy I've befriended listed all of those pleb tier games as their favourite. Not really fair to get mad at 'gamer' girls for liking simple games too

As for flaunting their "interests", girls are more social than guys are. If they're private about anything, they can't use a shotgun approach to matching up with someone else's. Women invented oversharing and they're the worst offenders.
