This one only tested for being able to figure out patterns, while other tests might measure being able to figure out the behavior of mechanisms or being able to follow logical statements.

If you are an adult in the united states and want to take a legitimate IQ test, then you need to pay to have a psychologist administer it. Children can get them free through their school districts as part of an evaluation to determine Special Education Eligibility.

I had to get this done at a hospital when I was 8 years old. They brought me into a private office with just one student desk and made me play these mind games. It was a few hours a day for a week or two. Scored like a 104 which is a couple points above average, they previously thought I was retarded but it was just a rare form of seizures. If you define intelligence as the ability to solve problems (through patterns, logic, etc.), then a comprehensive test of that stuff will help gauge that, but not everybody agrees on that definition for intelligence.

Also, take whatever the test OP linked with a grain of salt; there's a lot that goes into measuring IQ. Each time I was tested, the entire process was over nine hours long without any breaks. You cannot get results with nearly the same accuracy from an online quiz, if it's even remotely valid in the first place.

First, IQ tests have to be professionally administered, are timed, and require professional qualifications to administer. Second, even those IQ tests test little more than the ability to complete an IQ test. Give an IQ test to one of the Baka forest people of Africa and they'll get a score which puts them well below average; but drop a supposedly high-IQ stockbroker naked into the African jungle and see how long he survives.
For the record, my IQ was extensively tested when I was a child because I was a minor child prodigy, and was scored four sigmas.
I'm not particularly interested in finding out my IQ and I doubt I ever will be. It isn't something I need to know. If I get to do what I aim to do (study particle physics or astrophysics, maybe cosmology) then I will consider that an intellectual achievement.
