I am ashamed though. I've been working at the same retail shop for 5 years and so far every other place I've applied to has either not responded to me or ended after the interview stage. It feels really disheartening and even my current co-workers are starting to pity me because they know I really want to leave.

I wish I could listen to music at work but we can't on the warehouse floor. Only thing going for it is to go from location to location pulling boxes to quickly pass the time.
Best part is going into containers and off loading. I don't have to worry about productivity, it is a good work out, and it is very mindless. Sometimes a great way to just let off aggression.
Work is mostly good but there are things I don't like as well. Mostly when the racks are pretty much full and I have to somehow still put cases in them. It just ends up looking bad and displaces cases and cases get lost easier. They have a few band-aid solutions but that is all they are, they aren't attacking the problem head on while the company is still trying to push out more product each successive year which means they need to intake even more product to meet those goals.
No job I can get is worth having.

Try it. Warehouses have a high turnover rate and I have seen a lot worse people come on (one person covered in face tattoo's). I was 26 and a NEET for about 4 years or so and I applied to an employment agency and they got me to work in a warehouse the next week.
