redpill me on reddit
>>
>>29054329
if you dont agre with the hivemind you get downvoted and banned
>>
>>29054329
it's really really gay and even more useless than /r9k/
>>
>>29054329
Tried to go once but that awful interface turned me off.
And also
>Having to register
Pfff
>>
Not really that bad.

Some of their subreddits are pure cancer while others are pretty good, as would be expected from any very large website.

r9k acts as if it's full of communists and radical leftists for some reason.
>>
Unfunny pun humor, retarded circlejerking, forced memes, and "bazinga im so nerdy star warsss xP" power levels. It's also a haven for nu-male trash.
>>
>>29054329
The only subs that aren't full of sjw beta numales are /theredpill and /mgtow
>>
>>29054329
It's not that bad as people say but the more popular subreddits are cancerous.
>>
>>29054329
>so many subreddits
They are the vampire of the internet. They take from all sources and link it to reddit for discussion. It's good for finding other places to go, because the discussions are too slow, and the censoring of their broken downvoting system makes you more than conform to the rules, and the mods ban you from other subs, and you can get auto banned by bots for saying the wrong thing in a completely different sub. it's a madhouse.
>>
>>29054635
Fuck off, the smaller subs are bad too if you don't parrot popular opinions.
Reddit has an extremely shitty userbase.
>>
>>29054329
It was funny for the first few months, but you quickly realize the defaults are the same shit over and over. The top comments are sometimes good, but everything after that is karma-jerking dipshit puns and jokes that tangentially relate to the topic and quickly become unfunny.

I spend most of my time in smaller niche subreddits for things I like such as NASCAR
>>
>>29054329
At this point the overlap is so great that it's 4chan but everyone is a tripfag.
>>
>>29054744
>used to use reddit
>NASCAR
Dude ree. I went there for learning how to live out of a van and linux use and such. And to piss them off.
>tfw banned from a sub without breaking the rules
>tfw argued with mods getting mute raped over and over
>tfw could just make another account but got bored
And the jokes are sometimes funny if you dig deep enough. And that theredpill place I visited. I hope you atleast know about them.
>>
Reddit is what 4chan's user base would look like with a registration process.

Every sub, big or small, has its dogshit sides to it:

>derailing conversations with dumb pop culture
>above is worsened by users, as they decide what should be upboated and downboated, hence harder to have good conversations and easier to fuck around
>unfunny puns
>blue-pilled as fuck, can somehow leak onto subs that are completely unrelated to politics
>goes through cycle of one set of opinions being the best, to another being the best

and now pic-related.
>>
>>29054944
no, it's what 4chan's libcuck portion of the userbase would look like with a registration process.

>>29054329
it's ok as a content aggregator and a good place if you want to get information about a new hobby or something. its users are on average pseudo-intellectual dipshits so you deserve what you get if you ever enter the comments section of a large subreddit
>>
>>29055040

Eh, more like all of 4chan. There are different subreddits to correspond to the different boards here.
>>
>>29054329
only difference is, that you have to make an account.
>>
>>29055067
No. The libcucks. And r9k.
>>
>>29055109

So all of 4chan?
>>
I used to hate reddit too, but then I started trolling and shitposting on there.
The hivemind that rages against anything unpopular and the stupid voting system can be
exploited for many laughs when you have a relaxed state of mind. Getting 40-50 downvotes and many repliers on a comment you made ironically is really quite hilarious.
Of course the place is useless for actual discussion.
>>
When the modern internet culture began to be shaped here and we didn't gave two shits about claiming property, the jew lurking in the shadows saw the opportunity jumped and made his own website with "fresh content" thus claiming the title of "the frontpage of the internet"
Pathetic indeed.
>>
>>29055023
>goes through cycle of one set of opinions being the best, to another being the best

This shit is what turned me off reddit.
>>
>>29055118
Nice meme, 4chan isn't liberal.
>>
That endless "thank you for the upvote kind sir, I must buy you a beer you magnificent bastard, for you are a scholar and a gentleman" circlejerking makes me grit my teeth because of how fucking stupid it is.
Reddit is all an act.
>>
>>29054329
there are usable subreddits, depending on your interests.

its flaws are that the upvote and profile systems lead people to pursue acceptance and maintenance of their karma rather than actually expressing their opinion. leads to circlejerking and, at best, tame content on the more popular subreddits. also lowest common denominator humour, which usually involves beating jokes into the ground for years for the sake of upvotes

however, it does complement 4chan well, as here we suffer from edginess for the sake of edginess due to the anonymity and despite the key differences in the websites, reddit and 4chan's general worldview is very similar

don't get me wrong, 4chan is better. there's some shit to sift through, but ultimately original content is created here whereas reddit is more of an aggregator.

reddit has some serious flaws, but the reason it's a meme and people "hate" it is simply because it's different and people enjoy having competition to hate and feel superior to
>>
You can't shitpost on reddit
>>
>>29055284
Some subreddits you get banned for not shitposting. In one all you can say is cat. And every part of the subreddit says cat. And they post nothing but pictures of cat. And randomly downvote eachother, as a roulette for karma. Lots of weird subs out there trust me.
>>

>>
>>29055023

>4chan
>unregulated

mostly true.
>>
The idea of filtering what you read through public approval and collecting internet points as marks of your popularity tends to attract an extremely annoying and very very boring sort of person, for example common among top comments are recycled sitcom jokes that are somehow vaguely relevant to the topic but would seem cliche to television watchers in the 1990s. This is repeated over and over since it has proven to be an effective way to get points and people on the big subreddits actually care somehow.
>>
>>29054429

what would you say to someone who forms an opinion on 4chan after browsing /b/ for an hour and never goes back?

that's what you guys are doing with reddit
of course the front page is awful
of course large subreddits are awful
there's some niche communities though that offer a more active discussion hub than any other place on the internet for that particular topic, and when the userbase remains small, the content retains quality
but you guys are too caught up in the anti-reddit meme to actually make any kind of in-depth observation and come to an opinion that isn't spoonfed to you by 4chan
>>
>>29055962
The police did, and it's banned here too. Pics of young girls were one of the highest things searched for there when it was new.
>>
>>29056007
Really though
Fuck reddit.
>>
>>29056007
Their management is literally terrible. If I wanted to go fuck around with a bunch of goons and plebs, I'd use Twitter.
>>
The one thing reddit is good for is for niche communities.
For example, if you follow some little-known musician, video game, hobby, or subculture, reddit is admittedly probably your best bet for discussing it. That's the benefit of anyone being able to make a board, unlike 4chan.

Other than that, the community at large is shit.
>>
>>29056016
I'd correct your retarded misconception of internet history, but I wasn't even talking about jailbait, I was talking about loli
>>
>>29056103
and no, they flirted with legal shit until the management banned it for profits and pretended they did it because of goons
>>
>>29056138
Shit yeah, I remember that.
Bear in mind that at the SAME TIME they were going after some creepy uncle whose only crime was being an edgelord, they were also protecting an actual rapist/tranny and shutting up xer victims.

This is all one sentence. Are you in the least bit educated? It fucking hurts to read your shitpost with 0 capitalized letters. You're probably underaged.

The bluepill on 4chan would be to hate reddit, so I assume you mean you want to know why it's still decent after all?

Reddit is not a site that's designed for debate. If you use it that way then you're gonna hate it, like most of the idiots here on 4chan don't seem to get. Instead it's designed to be a combination of a link aggregator, an image board, a Q&A site, and a blog site.

You have to use reddit like you would youtube. Find the good channels/subreddits and ignore whatever the frontpage might be. You don't dismiss cool channels because some of the comments might be trash, and likewise you shouldn't dismiss cool subreddit just because there isn't the kind of comments you want.

I personally subscribe to a local subreddits and some relevant to my hobbies (/r/gamedev, /r/kappa, /r/darksouls). /r/videos is alright if I just want something to watch while I'm eating. And that's about it. The endless categorized porn is nice too.

Most liberal thing out there. The conservatives is a meme and now that's the current culture, but it's still left wing, not right dirt because sometimes you get swept into these things. Once you do they realize that sometimes this can not what they say.

Until summer ends at least
>>
The only good subreddits are meta/circlejerk subbreddits where they make fun of the rest of the site or act opposite to a specific sub . The best part is that those circlejerk subreddits are usually less moderated and the result is even better discussion than the subreddit they are making fun of. This is especially true of the political subreddits.

For some reason my post keeps getting marked as spam: >>29057666

>reddit is not a site that's built for discussion

No one would care if the userbase didn't insist that it was.

Redditors constantly assert that they are more educated, and that their site encourages civil discourse. In fact, Reddit only allows a hivemind view or a small number of contrasting but still overwhelmingly popular opinions to be heard, and as you say it isn't built for discussion anyway.
>>
>>29059498
people who visit reddit are summer
>>
>>29059649

>>
R/immobile is the best one, all others are shit

A bunch of pseudointellectual faggots who, for some reason, insist on bringing their faggotry to us.

For example:
>>29054429
>>29054539
>>29054635
>>29054744
>>29054915
>>29055040
>>29055082
>>29055118
>>29055279

And those are just a select few. Notice the similarities in what they say and how they act: "small subs are okay, large subs are cancer", long-winded boring posts, pseudo-intellectual "well here's my conclusion kind sirs", etc. It makes me sick.
>>
>>29059498
>logical opinions

Well, you can't discuss everything on 4chan, so Reddit is good for the rest.
>>
>>29059851

>>
>>29054329
I see tons of racism, sexism, homophobia, religion, and alt right shit on there yet everyone here claims it's liberal. reddit is literally just 4chan for adults. Same mindset but now people have jobs and live in their own apartments
>>
>>29054329
The downvote system is a censoring and shaming system used by the people at reddit.
It's sad
>>

reddit is a gay death camp for gay faggot children
>>
>>29059932
You see edgy people, anon. Besides, I have a quick tip for you: /pol/tards who complain about Reddit being "too liberal" are newfags and probably come from Reddit themselves. We hate Reddit for how faggy and circlejerky they are, not their politics (which are undeniably liberal btw).
