Well, Ne is more about possibilities. So basically, there's a starting idea and then, from that one idea, you start to get a bunch of ideas that are related to that one idea. But it all starts from that one.
Whereas, Ni, is pretty much the opposite. Rather than possibility, it focuses more on probability. It gathers a bunch of ideas over time (depending how complex the situation is), and after some time, the brain just condenses it into a very simplistic form. So it basically synthesizes many things into one universal thing that can be observed and proved most of the time.

As an INFJ I feel incredible empathy for the world. I value individual freedom greatly and think everyone should have the same, I am frustrated by the systems of control established by the worlds governments but also recognize their necessity in infrastructure and security of the nation. Ideally, I'd like to befriend everyone I come across and change the hearts of those who could care less of the world. Practically I know this is not possible, and frustration mounts as reality slips further and further from my mental utopia.
I feel like all INFJ's have this sense of a global society that treats everyone as equals, yet personal experiences of judgement and inequality by others lead us down a path of apathy for our lofty ideals. I think that's where Hitler and Osama went wrong, their world order would come at the expense of those who they felt was the root of their suffering.
Violent tendencies can emerge from the once innocent wishes to have equality and personal liberty trampled by the reality of competition and discrimination in this world. As much as I try to be logical and organized, I cannot escape the drastic emotional responses I feel from injustice both to myself and the world at large. This eventually drives INFJ's mad I imagine.

Every idea is connected and referenced to another, and all these ideas form a general and complex impression of the world. Simple ideas expand into branches of probabilities and correlations that are not often thought of as related. Not entirely logically either, emotional responses can form a similar correlation.

Jung and the MBTI strived to categorize human behaviors into certain classifications. But every test will give you a percentage of each category you are, because realistically no one can be type cast 100%. We all react and behave differently depending on our experiences, we grow and change and our types can change too, several times throughout our lives in fact.
In my youth I was cast more as an INTP but now I am an INFJ. So while I have always had high percentages in the I and N category, my T/F and J/P areas were more around 50/50. I believe I am only 60% F and 55% J last I took a test. The tests are more apt to describe how you would react most often, but are not an indicator of how you would act all the time.
