I just don't want an abscess or whatever. Literally one of my teeth is just corroding away.
Mine were fucking awful, but this year I finally decided to get my shit together and start working on getting over my dental phobia.
Thank fucking god I was born in the UK and we have NHS dentistry and student teaching hospitals here. I went to my universities teaching hospital a few months ago and they paired me up a 4th year who's basically giving me the full works.
I had 2 impacted wisdom teeth extracted under sedation, 4 fillings, all under sedation too, 3 scale and polishes, gave me a prescription for fluoridated toothpaste and I'm getting braces sometime later this year, all completely free because socialised medicine is the shit.
Picture related is what I got in my appointment yesterday. Apparently I may be grinding my teeth in my sleep so they took impressions and made me a free soft splint to wear at night. There's a tooth missing on the bottom because I need two extracted in order to get braces, apparently my jaw is too small for all the teeth I have.
Does the US have dental teaching hospitals where you can get free treatment?

If that's the case why are Americans so against having their taxes raised in order to fund a nationwide health service that's free at the point of delivery like they have here, in France and Canada etc.?
Yeah it costs a lot more, but I think it makes for a better, healthier, happier society.
The NHS isn't perfect, not by a long shot, but its saved my ass more times than I can count.

I actually did get several free cleanings, fillings and full x-rays from a dental school.
They didn't cover the anesthesia for the extraction of my impacted wisdoms but the extractions were free themselves.
