Istps I know (including me) don't often participate in these conversations. They often seem to have no value, barely any substantial debate and feel like my own insight changes little in the others' views.
Personally I remain silent in groups until I think me acting can change something or i try to guide the group to a prefered outcome.
Not exclusive to Istps, but common I think: I barely write and if I do I sometimes just delete the entire message and don't send it.

The theory is never full retard. All the theory gets converted into practical application and practical use. We can reduce theory to something so simple a retard could use it. We can beat intuitives at their own game because we know which of these theories are actually right and will work.

I'd add that INTPs like ideas for their own sake, they like playing with all concepts even if they turn out to be wrong or "useless". The theory is actually the end for them, they don't care about how it could work irl as long as they find it interesting.
ISTPs can get into anything and become good at it, just like INTPs, but if it's highly theoretical and has few applications, they'll grow bored quickly. Their pursuit of knowledge is there to help them acquire skills that they can later apply, like a versatile database.

As an ISTP myself I try to atleast put my foot in the waters of most topics.
I try to have general knowledge of something or atleast try to udnerstand as many topics as possinble but not too much where Its considered being an expert.
However when I find something that I enjoy doing or something thats exciting I put in all effort to it. Which is why I could play a video game to 100% if its a well made game or I could just beat the story adn quit playing because 100% for that would be like going very out of the way for it.

My 11 year old sister is unironically an istp as well and the most disorganized and procrastinatey person I know. I am slightly better at controlling myself. I was trying to be a good male figure for her and spend some time with her. She forced me to watch the entire first season of invader zim . She just kept reloading the next episode and wouldn't go to sleep. We were up till 2-3 in the morning. I get it, I do that shit all the time. I just don't know how to stop, or how to make someone else stop. A couple days later, mom flips out because she had a project due and its my fault she didn't turn it in.
How can I help her foster good organizational skills and get her life back on track before she falls so hard into those routines, its impossible to break her out of them. Have you had problems with procrastination or disorganization? How'd you deal with it ?
