If you dont poop enough it actually dries inside you, becomes hard, and as a result is very hard to push out.
I had some backed up shit once and took some apple cider vinegar to get the ball rolling, but it worked too well, the obstruction was so complete, that a painful amount of gas and pressure built up. The longest half hour of my life sitting on that toilet.
