Bro, /fa/ here

Sounds like your a man-child wearing band shirts and vans or some shit

Also some people are fine with wearing normcore clothing especially since you sound like you're not confident enough to stand out. Just find a good couple of fits that suit you, you don't need to have a shit ton of shirts or pants just to impress people. Look at our board for some inspo

However do NOT go to reddit (/r/MFA, /r/navyblazer) for advice, they are cancer

>>29035832
Actually I have this issue too.

It's summer, I live in south europe and I have like 3 usable t-shirts and a pair of jeans for that reason. The rest of my summer clothes are practially rags or don't fit at all.

And on top of that I'm poor as fuck which means every purchace will be final thus making the choice even more difficult.
>>
Go shopping at the local walmart.
New cloths that no one will notice plus is cheap.
New cloths.
>>
>>29035832
Just be conservative in your dress anon. I'm required to wear business casual for my job, which is pretty nice because it's easy to shop for if you know how to find stuff that fits you. I've also found that more expensive clothes are not always better.

>>29035943
He said he is too scared to actually buy anything.

You people are just as bad. All "fashionable" men are embarrassing fags.
>>
>tfw only go clothing shopping with my mother
>tfw nearly 30
>tfw picking out anything myself causes massive anxiety and panic
>tfw sales assistants trying to talk to you
>tfw will never grow up
How do people do it? How can they just try on and buy clothes they like? I don't even know what would look good yet I see all these people just buying stuff alone. How do they know?
>>
I strongly relate to OP's feel

I wore baggy jeans from high school to after college because I thought people would think I was a tryhard
>>
>>29035832
Your clothes is the least of your worries. The underlying problem lies deeper in how you define yourself.

I've worn suits since I was 18 years old. You want to be accepted? The problem is that you're asking for it.
>>
>tfw went clothes shopping all by myself today

It wasn't actually that bad. I just acted like I knew what I was looking for and the groups of normies there didn't even seem to care that I was alone. Seriously would recommend, quite a decent experience overall.
>>
>>29036811
How do you know what looks good ?
>>
>>29036834
I don't. I looked in the mirror and the clothes seemed to fit. They're very plain, so I can't have screwed up that bad. I mean what can go wrong with basic jeans and some dress shirts?
>>
>>29036636
I'm 28 and went clothes shopping with my mom. Honestly clothes shopping by yourself is a hassle. Mom's are great because they can go get you a size that fits when you are in the fitting room if something doesn't fit right. If you are by yourself that you have to give up your fitting room spot and carry all the clothes and it just becomes a hassle. I don't get embarrassed or anything, I'm mature enough not to care about stupid stuff like that anymore. I pick all the clothes myself though. Also maybe do something nice for your mom after like take her out to lunch or something.

>>29036811
This one scratches the surface of one of the classic false /r9k/ memes.
>adults care whether you're at [insert place] alone
Nobody fucking cares. That includes bars, restaurants, movie theatres, travel destinations... rarely they do ask if you're alone, but when you just shrug it off with "I was bored so I went for it" or with a lie like being an expat/there for a conference/etc, it will never come up again. The only exception to the rule are black-tie events where you're supposed to bring someone, but if you're invited to/attending one, you obviously have afford to get proper escort.

The point is, don't let it bother you, and nobody will care.

This is either the best troll, or the saddest soul I've encountered all night.
>>
>>29037009
What the hell is sad about it? It's a guy spending time with his mother.

Are you jealous because you don't have a good relationship with your mother?
>>
>>29037009
>normies can't even believe these people are real
>>
>>29037037
That is literally no different than taking your mother grocery shopping for you.
>what is a codependent relationship

>Are you jealous because you don't have a good relationship with your mother?
I'm a grown man who doesn't need his mother to tuck him in or pay his bills. It's called growing up, maybe you should look into it.

/fa/ is filled with faggots
>>
>>29037115
>It's called growing up
Growing up also means you stop being so rebellious against the people who raised you. Once you get older you'll learn there's nothing wrong with spending time with either of your parents and that you don't have to be ashamed about being seen with them.

You're acting very immature right now.
>>
>>29036636
Have a simple wardrobe, and plan ahead on what you're going to buy. You already know what size you are, so just go out and buy clothing in that size.
>>
>>29037214
>Once you get older you'll learn there's nothing wrong with spending time with either of your parents and that you don't have to be ashamed about being seen with them.
I agree with you on that, but it's not unconditional. If you go shopping with your mother - because of a valid reason and NOT because you NEED her there - that's okay. But the guy I was replying to was replying in support of a guy who couldn't shop w/o his mother because of anxiety.

You see the difference?
>>
>>29037214
>can't buy cloths without his mother's help
>"it's just spending time with my family. you're so immature."
>>
>>29035832
In order to get rid of social anxiety you have to understand that nobody gives a fuck about you. People are selfish, they wont even notice you in the shop. Afraid to outside and talk to others? It's called human interaction ... don't think that other people are different than you, they're all fucking humans - they're shy as well, just go and talk to them or just greet them that will make them happy, the won't lynch you for that ffs.
>>
>>29036636
It's called human interaction, get used to it
>>
>>29037415
we all fucking know it's completely irrational but it's difficult to get rid of that feeling when you were targeted your entire life

Fucking man-children

I have this problem too, especially at the place I wagecuck

office casual, my outfits consist of a long sleeve dress shirt in some shade of blue, a black/dark blue/grey pair of khakis and black shoes

now that it's summer i've tried to work short sleeve dress shirts/polos into my wardrobe but the problem I have is I have no idea what colours go well together. I'll try an outfit on and stare at it in the mirror wondering if it looks bad

I bought white shoes and tan khakis and wore those with a bright teal shirt and spent the entire day self conscious that people thought I was trying too hard to look good. I look at other guys in the office and they're basically wearing the same thing so I do calm down a bit but I still get a feeling of uneasiness.
>>
>>29037454
What do you exactly mean by targeted?
>>
>>29037491
navy seals wont leave me alone
>>
You already know whether putting effort into clothes is worth it or not, based on your physical appearance
Why bother putting lipstick on a pig?
>>
Buying clothes that fit is step one. Can't tell you how many dudes I see walking around with shirts or pants like 2-3 sizes too big for them.

Once you get that down, start buying less autistic shoes and shirts. Basic colors and patterns.

Finally if it's not warm out, cheat mode is to layer with a jacket/cardigan/sweater. Dark jeans that fit, non-"athletic" shoes, Oxford shirt and a sweater is literally all it takes to out dress 50-60% of the other guys in any given room, if not more.
>>
>>29037508
Seriously what does that mean?
>>
>>29037569
>Why bother putting lipstick on a pig?
That is profoundly inaccurate, as males are not treated based on their looks, but their status.

As a male, there's a world of difference how you're treated [insert anywhere] if you're wearing a suit and a $2000 overcoat or a hoodie and jeans. I should know, I've done both.
