Upgrade now.

16.04 was already available when I installed this, choosing this version was deliberate because
>no systemd (it's still too new)
>snaps is total cancer and goes against how the repos are supposed to work (and how chromium was outed for having sneaky code in it)
>I don't care about the software center or putting the launcher on the bottom
>it works perfectly

Why not try Ubuntu MATE or Xubuntu? What is really so bad with systemd? I hate the stock Ubuntu de.
>>29035246
>Why not try Ubuntu MATE or Xubuntu?
because
1)for me the UI of Win7 was the best and it's Unity that comes the closest.
2) every time I tried xfce or lxde I had no panels after restart and could never get them back. 3) gnome/kde (and forks/variants) are way too extreme in their philosophies (gnome is too primitive while kde is overcomplicated and crashes often)
>What is really so bad with systemd?
it's still too new.
>inb4 debian
it's not updated frequently enough
I now only use windows exclusively to play Age of Empires.
I used to use Linux then I got a Mac.
Pic related, old desktops from my Linux days on my Mac.

Any application that uses GTK2 (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and others) are still going to have the shitty file selector.
>>29035877
FF46 is GTK3 (pic related: open file dialog)
>>29036053
That's GTK2. And now that I look, it's still not fixed in GTK3.
Do you not understand what the feature suggestion in the OP is asking for? It's asking for icons with thumbnails that aren't in a list format. The OP image, your image, and my image are all lists.

>gtk2
according to the site FF mandates gtk3 since version 45
>buttons on top
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>icons not list
(it's 2AM here and thought it was about the image preview on the right), and I never once noticed that it can't be changed because I would prefer it this way

>unity is osx
it's like a hybrid between osx and win7 (if you put the taskbar on the left)
>kde
yeah, it's overcomplicated and crashed quite often for me (I had to use opensuse for a while at work) and methinks that's not mere coincidence. I also tried trinity and it's motherfucking cancer.
also, I'm fine with unity
