This is from one of the official reports. It's an email exchange between Adam and his mother, whom at times he'd communicate with only via email, when he was just 16. He is trying to console her about issues related to a terminal disease she has. The catch? Investigators later determined her "illness" to be a complete lie. She wasn't just lying to Adam about being sick, but friends, family, etc. She would make up stories about appointments with doctors and various experts, and getting bad prognoses, but none of it was provable afterwards.
At this point in Adam's life, he seemingly believed her. But you have to wonder if in later years he figured her out and what sort of resentment towards her it may have caused. Anyway, the authors of this report dismissed his advice as an example of his immaturity and inability to relate to others in a normal fashion but I thought it was really impressive for a teenager.
