For a while I told myself and other people that I wore makeup for myself but really it's because I think I look more attractive with it on and I feel better about myself when I feel attractive.
I don't think I'm ugly without it and I go our in public bare faced just as much as I wear makeup but I feel like it makes me look more polished. That being said, the girl in OP a is using way too much makeup for an everyday look. Maybe for a photo shoot or a party that's fine but it's too exhausting to cover up 90% of your facial features daily, or even every other day IMO.
I personally use eyebrow powder regularly because my hair is dyed red (the auburn kind, not the tumblr kind) and my eyebrows are naturally blond. It just changes the color of my eyebrows but the difference gives my face a less dead look since I'm pale.
