If your room is well lit and outside is dark, the photons escaping from your window doesn't get "drowned out" by natural light, making it easy to see in.
When it is bright outside, it's like expecting someone to notice you shining a flashlight on them from inside your room. It is significantly darker in there than outside so if it anything the room would appear heavily shaded to pitch dark from outside with bright natural lighting.
