I read a book about this fellow a long time ago during a curious time when I found men like him intriguing. I admit I don't remember much about his particular case, but I'll never forget one episode he recounted when giving his confessions. Which, of course. he gave willingly. A man's sins may be too disgusting for a priest to listen to long enough to absolve, but law enforcement will always lend an interested ear. Said ear may not be sympathetic, but beggars can't be choosers.
While abducting one of his victims, he accidentally brushed one of her breasts with his elbow and muttered an embarrassed "sorry" before throwing her in the trunk of his car. He went on to kill her, decapitate her, and rape her corpse.
Women were disgusted by Kemper, and he knew it. Only by killing those women could Kemper pretend he was experiencing what most men take for granted. Sure, the women in question didn't react with pleasure when he touched them. But at least they didn't react to him with disgust.
