Basically from a scientific standpoint Gender is whether you believe that you are male or female and Sex is what you are biologically.
Trannies are people who MAY experience the mental illness of gender dysphoria in which their body does not match the sex they believe themselves to be.

No look you morons. Gender is a grammatical term. It refers to ANY system of class divisions that are conceptually central to a language - often, particularly in Indo-European countries, male and female are among those categories, but not always.
That's what the word has always meant, the post-modern misuse of it to refer to biological sex instead is very new, and ironically enough invented as a politically correct euphemism after 20th century americans became so uncomfortable with sex we didn't even want to say the word anymore.
