I like cats because I can relate to them.
They can either be really aloof and not care about anyone's existance other than their own, or super affectionat.
They're also more hesitant to get to know people in comparison to dogs which is the same for me, if I don't really know you I'm not that interested in hanging out for extended periods of time right away.
But once they get to know you, they really appreciate your company and are content in just being in your presence as opposed to dogs who always want to play or walk or something.

try to avoid feeding it too much when it's not at your house. eventually it will get the idea to come around if its hungry. but dont be too mercenary about it, cats are pretty dumb and you risk starving them if they cant figure out what you want them to do.

I just adopted him yesterday from the shelter.
Only problems I've had so far is he likes to sleep and hide under my bed, but isn't scared of the people in the house. He is actually really sweet, and he was already licking and nuzzling me before I even brought him home.
Also for some reason if you catch him in the kitchen he bolts to my room and hides under the bed. I'm thinking there is still a lot of scents from my late cat, because the kitchen pantry was where the litterbox was.

My cat became 21yo, he was a real buddy.
If you have an old cat make sure to take pictures because its really nice to look back at the times you shared, the day will come.
His liver failed and he wouldnt eat. I forcefed him with tears in my eyes but his time was over. I had to put him to sleep because he wanted to wander off into the wilderness and die alone. And i couldnt let him slowly starve outside in the cold. Its been 2 years now.
