It's weird, I am actually in the middle of watching this film right now.
I actually heard it deviates a lot from the book. I'm going to read it after watching it and find out how much they Hollywoodized it.
I really hated this movie. I'm not sure how to describe why but there is an element of disgust.
I was looking for a movie similar to "The Spectacular Now" (which I loved) and ended up with this disgusting mess. It's one of the movies I've most regretted watching.

There are various moods and feels in it though
It includes the bigger picture of Mexico in its storytelling and it doesn't go like Perks where it has the slow start and focus on one character then leads to finding friends and then a big event at the end.
This one is kind of like the last moment of something wether it's last day being somewhere or your last moment before going to bed or something similar to that. It's an interesting movie and it's on Netflix so you don't even have to download anything
