Have you ever made your dad cry?
My father lived in another city and we did not have a lot of contact. When I was about eight I stayed at his place for a week. At one point, I was looking for him and heard music from the basement. So I went downstairs and found him sitting on a chair and crying. I crawled on his lap and he told me he loves me very much and that he is sorry for not being there for me. I said something along the lines of "absense makes the heart grow fonder" and then he cried more. In retrospection, I think he was drinking again.
My dad had a panic attack but we didnt knkw at first and when i saw him in the bed getting wheeled in i started crying and he did when he saw me

Numerous times. Pretty much any time I bring up what a horrible "parent" he was and how I'll never truly forgive him or love him.
