This, maybe in the rural South you still have "Cletus" and "Bubba" types, but most American white trash nowadays have more in common with British Chavs than stereotypical Southern rednecks.
Most American white trash don't drive pickup trucks, shoot guns and "go muddin'." There are lots of people like that, but most of them are just people from middle class suburban families who decided the "redneck lifestyle" looked cool.
