I currently have 35 open browser tabs. This is becoming the norm for me, but it wasn't always this way. I used to think it was ridiculous to have more than 7 or 8 tabs open at a time, but I think as I'm losing control of my life slowly but surely, it's manifesting in an increasingly high average number of tabs open at any time. Which has me wondering whether /r9k/ is especially tab-happy for the same reason.
1. How many tabs do you currently have open across all active browser windows?
2. On a scale of 1 - 10, how fucked is your life?
I figure with these two questions, we can scientifically determine the correlation between a fucked life and tab habits.

When you can't read the tab name you've gone too far.
>>28945979
16 GB ram and an ssd bruh, where we're going we don't need to count tabs
>tfw 18 instances of TES4: Oblivion open just because I can
umm...original comment, this is btw familia

Chrome tabs are cancer. I average about 15 tabs. Any more and my autism kicks in to finish looking at them. My life is fucked to a 6.

this, having too many open tabs makes me physically angry, I max out at around that too

Thousands if i count all my computers. Some i havent booted up in months. This one right now has 147 tabs open right now in this browser. Theyre easy though, it should take no more than an hour to go through them since its mostly 4chan and image searches with only a dozen or so information sites that are about 1 page each of text.
Othertimes it could take half a day just to get through a couple dozens of tabs because theyre so rich with information or something thats new to me
i make bookmarks instead of tabs
~70 bookmarks that i haven't looked at since a couple months ago. never feel like opening them
>>28947712
I literally have tens of thousands of bookmarks
Its kind of antiquated though because ive amassed so much information now that my bookmarks from 6 years ago are mostly meaningless because i can recite the information from my head. If i look at the bookmark i will know everything it talks about or goes over. Bookmarks like music videos though or unique recipes are nice and a lot of other bookmarks have a nostalgia effect so i keep everything. Sometimes just go through them to go through feels.
I have 20 tabs, and a restore session window with about 40 tabs there
Used to be tabs, now bookmarks, used to be bookmarks before too, but now more than ever, including finally using the bookmarks toolbar and bookmark folder to try and organize my bookmark
Even have a folder for tabs I dont want to read yet or will finish reading later, its growing daily.
Nothings really changed just been rearranged, the few tabs I don't immediately hide away into bookmarks are those I really do want to read and get around to looking at... even if they've been on my tabs for weeks.
In that way I might come across another tab I dont want to read yet but is of highest priority so I will keep it, and slowly the amount of tabs grows until I decide to look at them finally after a month just to cut the number of tabs down.
Waking up in the morning, browsing 4chan and other sites, loading up on tabs to take the rest of the day to go through and ending up with only those high priority ones that you have yet to read, day after day, because internet gave you ADD and you cant focus enough to read the tabs you saved.
Here's mine OP
I also have 37 bookmarks
no tabs open. just an app : ^ )

Use tree style tabs
Thank me later.
I have less than 7 tabs open most times and one or two are usually streaming audio. I don't like to have too many tabs open since I feel it splits my attention too much and overstimulates me.
>>28951455
2 right now, if I'm at work usually ~6.
I only browse a couple different sites at this point...4chan, liveleak, and weedmaps. All the forums I used to love are all dead. I get all my porn from one place.

I have three monitors, two ASUS 60Hz 1920x1080 27inchers and one BenQ 144hz 1920x1080 27incher in the middle.
I will have three instances of google chrome, one on each monitor, each with about 10-12 tabs open at a time, some of them with auto-refresh addon running.
This is advanced browsing.
scale of 1-10?
Bout a 5
>>28945979
What operating system/visual style is that?

>as I'm losing control of my life slowly but surely, it's manifesting in an increasingly high average number of tabs open at any time
I noticed this too, I just got rid of a bunch of tabs that were just images from 4chan I opened "to save when I get around to it"
1. only 11 but usually more, my first 3 tabs have been open for like 4 months now, I keep telling myself I'll download and watch them one day
2. I'd say 8, it's not horrible, but I'm practically a NEET, and I haven't left the house in a week
69 tabs on firefox with tree style tabs
5-6
I used to have this problem as well, but now I try to keep my tabs to the minumum.
There is an extension for firefox, that lets you have only 6 tabs or so.

Hey Miles. :3

Hello? Why the catface.
Honestly? I don't even know... Over 100 for sure, maybe 150?
I've always done this though, firefox's "don't load tab until I switch to it" feature is made for digital pack rats like myself. My old PC had 4gb of ram and it was the best thing ever. Now I have 32gb and I still use it because why not.
I have a youtube section of tabs, a music section of tabs, a video games section of tabs, a (lately rather large) porn section of tabs and finally a misc/recent set of tabs. It can get annoying because the triple click on the tab button only works for either end of the tabs and the double click is like 10 tabs at a time so it can take a while to navigate to the middle sections. Every once in a while I go through a purge and clean out stuff, but it's like twice a year. I've been thinking it's time, I noticed some game guides for things I was playing in february that I probably won't be getting back to anytime soon.
Pic related is a good 1/2 - 2/3 of the misc section
As for question 2, that's subjective. I think it's like 3/10 but most normies would say it's like 8/10
1. I'm currently at 114 and i don't see it going under 100 soon
2. 7-8
>>28952454
I am sitting on 7 tabs.
Fix your browsing habits and your life will follow :p
>>28952489
We both know it's too late for that Loki
>>28945979
My life is fucked on 7-8 but i still think having a lot of tabs is pretty normal, unless you have a shit pc or a monitor that can't display them properly, then you are a retard if you have many tabs. I constantly have at least 30 tabs but i don't open more because i only have 8gb of ram and i alt-tab from my games or movies that i watch to quickly browse 4chan, it's my add that makes me do it.
my computer is shit enough that once I get close to 20 tabs open it starts to slow down immensely due to constantly using swap memory, so that kinda helps me close stuff
1. 12 tabs
2. 6/10
