I love Let's Plays and I hate Let's Plays.
I love watching the well-made LPs where the person knows the game inside out with the motions to prove it, and the knowledge to show it, they really love that game and can't show you every nook and cranny.
I like the blind LPs where the person jumps into a new game, uncertain about what to expect ahead and fumbling at the beginning but steadily improving and really enjoying themselves, cutting real deep into learning about the game world and it's NPCs/story till they reach the end wishing for more.

I genuinely don't get Leafy's appeal, and I've really tried.
I mean I actually see the appeal of the likes of Jacksepticeye, Pewdiepie, Markiplier, etc. If you're a little kid then they'd be really fucking entertaining because of the energy and the excitement that the energy brings.
But I don't get Leafy at all.
He literally plays the same game in every video, and it's not even a game really, it reminds me of a fucking old Windows screensaver when you left the computer for a while.
He's boring. He just plays little clips of videos and then makes commentaries about how "cringy" they are, but not in an entertaining way. He just kinda says "oh yeah that's cringy" and he has 3 million subscribers.

They are the best ones. They can be comfy to watch. Seeing a guy who knows his shit or someone playing a game blind and just loving the game they're experiencing for the first time. But thats just overwhelmed now with appealing to kids, play this weeks indie fad shit.
It sucks because these lets players are lessening and the markiplier types are growing, because of how youtube works now, they know they'll never be advertised, like 5 people watch them and they give up. It's why commenting counts, it can really keep them going.
It sucks that lets playing in general now has this stereotype of this loud, screaming in webcam type of person but you can't blame them when they're in the forefront and everyone else is in the back with their 100 subs.
