WRPGs are painfully boring. It doesn't help that I dislike generic D&D fantasy settings. The only "RPGs" from the west I've enjoyed are Deus Ex and System Shock 2, and I consider those shooters firstly.
Now, granted, DX and SS2 are both really good games, but they're not nearly as memorable as my favorite JRPGs.
I remember when I first played Nocturne years ago and spent several weeks doing nothing BUT playing it. The music, the monsters, the story, the world, the atmosphere; everything in that game is just so perfect to me.
