After that I went to 7chan and loved the /i/ board and their /b/ because it was slower and that meant you could photoshop something decent instead of just reposting the same images. Then when 7chan got v& I sort of just left the internet and forgot about it till around 2012 when I started working a really boring job that gave me lots of free time.
I saw a tendie story on reddit and came back. /b/ sucks now, but /r9k/ is fascinating. When I had a rough time with the law and my ex got me arrested, talking with the original barman at the feels and frogs really helped.
I still lurk here a lot, but I find a lot of people treat this place like a defeatist circle jerk.
I have spent over 10,000 hours on 4chan over the course of 10 years.
I've seen this place go from being optimistic about new games (Like Bioshock 1,) to hating everything before they know a single detail.

Being exposed to 4chan was like taking a huge Internet redpill desu, it pointed out the fakeness of reddit's community and the thirst for Internet points, the content chain (4chan>reddit>9gag-Facebook etc). I also realised that a lot of things on the Internet that I found funny years ago was because of 4chan (Jesus Chatline raids etc). Also being used to reddit made me think that the most upvoted was the truest, then the equality of 4chan posting showed me how argument and debate actually happens and how in creative boards you defend your views with actual arguements rather than reddit's circlejerking and puns.
I browed /b/ exculsively then took up /lit/ then also /mu/. Now I browse /mu/, /tv/ and /r9k/. I know my post is a bit serious and 4chan is still just a meme/shitposting site of shitflinging but I feel that I this is my home; hopefully someone can relate answim not juat being a fag

I used to go on a forum which I would refer to as a proto /r9k/, but it had a lot more failed normies and cyborgs than bots. Eventually the guy who owned it shut it down, but before that he told us all about this place. I checked it out and liked it.
I heard about 4chan from a buddy when I was in highschool. I think it was 2009. He would get butthurt every time moot got drunk and messed with the site.
I learned of /r9k/ when some /pol/acks talked about during /pol/ harbor.
