I could be wrong but from what I've found out, ISTPs are much more attuned to the real world. They are quite sensual, and see the world around them.
INTPs on the other hand are logicians and get caught up in ideas and concepts that interest them and tend to spend large amounts of time trying to figure them out before becoming interested in something else.
Both like to move from project to project but one is in their head (INTP) whilst the other is more in the world (ISTP).
I'm still quite new to understanding MBTI so somebody may come in and correct me, but that is how I understand it.

Well, I'm an ENTP and I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with being an NTP. Other than a couple existential crises or difficulties when it comes to productivity, everything seems fine.
Obviously some lack of social skills can make life a bit challenging and the fact that most social conversations don't peak our interest at all does get a bit restricting at times. And yet I'd say that being an NTP is worth it due to our greater scale perception and attempt to understand it all.

I feel pity for the INTJ especially. He seems the closest to groping towards the truth but he posses only intellect and not wisdom. He is trapped in his Te-Fi loop, where his internal Fi beliefs are projected into external Te reality. The INTJ is like the INFP, they both have deeply personal, wild, and abnormal beliefs. The INFP knows they are subjective feelings whereas the INTJ deludes himself into thinking they are objective reality. The typical arrogance of the unhealthy INTJ is due to intense insecurities he deludes himself into denying.
I can relate a great deal to INTPs since INTPs seek to understand synthetic systems and INFJs seek to understand organic systems. Both see themselves as part of a greater whole outside themselves.

INTP: A loner at heart, but also a keen observer of human behavior. As an INTP I can see motivations in people even when they may be only subconsciously aware of what they want themselves. Typically I will try to understand an opposing point of view. It's a skeptical and overly-analytical personality type though, often leaning towards pessimism. We can theorize and plan a strategy with the best of them, but like most introverted types, the INTP may struggle to relate on an emotional level.
